Message from the President

NABA Family and Friends!
Welcome to the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter website! We are very excited and proud to be able to connect with our members. Today, communication is key to any organization’s success and thus we have diligently worked to bring our members a medium to virtually connect with our chapter.

NABA is the premier professional organization focused on representing the interests of African Americans and other minorities in the Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Government, Consulting  and other Business related professionals and students . NABA’s mission is to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders that shape the future of the accounting and finance profession with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors. Simply put, NABA is about living its motto of “Lifting as We Climb”.

The Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter carries out the mission and goals of NABA at the local level. We strive to provide our members with enriching and engaging opportunities to grow in their careers through professional development in areas such as leadership forums and personal wealth building, technical CPE sessions on the latest accounting changes, and a series of activities aimed at expanding our member’s professional network.  We also aim to ensure the total wellness of our members by incorporating fitness into our professional development activities and include a golf series and community service activities to support charities such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Since the Baltimore Chapter was founded in 1973 by the late, Benjamin L. King, CPA, we have continued to strive towards emulating the courage and excellence demonstrated by our predecessors. The Baltimore Chapter stands on the shoulders of some of the accounting profession’s greatest contributors who made a way when there was no way. They helped to found and now continue to run NABA on all levels and paved the way for next generation of leaders. It’s now our turn to help guide the accounting profession to new heights.

On behalf of the Executive Board and the members of the Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter, we thank you for your interest in NABA. Whether you are a current or prospective member, a corporate partner or a future friend of the Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter looking for information about the organization, we hope that you will find this site useful and very informative. I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events and experiencing your involvement as we continue to strengthen NABA’s motto: Lifting As We Climb.
